Thank you for your interest in supporting YM Sailing’s pursuit of sailing in the 2020 Olympic Games. With the games a year from now, Josh and Michael’s goal is to implement the best training schedule in order to qualify and represent Canada to the best of their abilities in the Tokyo 2020 Summer Olympics.
The level of funding required for a successful campaign is around $100,000 a year. To note, donations can be tax deductible for Canadian tax-payers.

Why Sponsor Us?
To date, the financial and in-kind support received for our campaign from donors has been crucial. Continuing these relationships and building new ones is the only way to achieve our Olympic goal of representing Canada at the 2020 Olympic games.
To answer the question on why to support this dream, please consider the following reasons below:
- Josh and Michael will become role models for youth in sailing programs. Having grown up learning to sail at local yacht clubs and continuous involvement with these clubs will provide a chance for the youth to achieve the same goals they had;
- The public funding available in sailing is inadequate to support a campaign. In fact, all Canadian athletes headed to the Olympics across all disciplines rely on a combination of public and private funding. This is an opportunity to support youth with a goal that will help to shape them in positive ways as they move on in their careers;
- Every type of support is appreciated. Josh and Michael are open about their goals, their results, their challenges, and their needs for assistance. They are aware that all donors and sponsors have to closely consider their decisions when it comes to giving / donations;
- The duo is competitive: since embarking on their campaign, Josh and Michael have made it onto the World Sailing Rankings Top 100 for Men’s 470 Fleet Racing.
